چکیده
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the resistance transgenic papaya populations (PTPs) Papaya ringspot virus-P (PRSV-P). 'Sunrise Solo' plants were produced with gene PRSV-P protein coat, and PRSV mechanically inoculated in greenhouse conditions. presence CP/PRSV homozygosis evaluated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Selected control transplanted field for agronomic evaluations. conditions showed between 96.3 5.8%, without variation symptoms. PTPs 1/6, 1/7, 1/9, 1/10, 1/15, 2/38, 2/41, 2/56, 2/65, 3/27, 3/46, 3/48, 4/9, 4/27, 8/4, 8/23, 8/33, 18/3, 18/4, 18/8, 18/22, 18/27, 28/97, 28/104, 28/110 no symptoms, they ELISA negative, most them contained CP NPT II genes. 1/6 3/46 had double insertion. 1/6/20, 1/6/59, 1/6/64, 1/6/90, 3/46/44, 3/46/52, 18/27/97 a well-formed fruit cluster, piriform weighing approximately 500 grams, orange pulp, less than 10% carpelloidy. 1/6/59 3/46/52 show PRSV, good characteristics, homozygosis.

Field Resistance of Coat Protein Transgenic Papaya to Papaya ringspot virus in Jamaica
In 1949, Jensen reported that the first papaya disease attributed to a virus was described in the Caribbean (14). According to Jensen, the virus, presumably Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV), was recorded by Smith in 1929 and was considered the primary reason for no large-scale cultivation of papaya (Carica papaya L.) in Jamaica. However, in the mid-1980s, papaya (also locally known as pawpaw) was p...
متن کاملControl of papaya ringspot virus in papaya: a case study.
The papaya crop is severely affected by papaya ringspot virus (PSRV) worldwide. This review focuses on efforts to control the destructiveness of the disease caused by PSRV in Hawaii, starting from the use of cross protection to parasite-derived resistance with transgenic papaya expressing the PSRV coat protein gene. A chronology of the research effort is given and related to the development of ...
متن کاملToxicity assessment of transgenic papaya ringspot virus of 823-2210 line papaya fruits.
The transgenic papaya is a valuable strategy for creating plants resistant to papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) infection and increasing production. This study was further performed to evaluate the comparative toxicity effects of the newly developed transgenic line of the fruits of two backcross transgenic papaya lines (2210 and 823) and one hybrid line (823-2210) and compare to their parent non-tra...
متن کاملGeneration of a Papaya Hybrid Variety with Broad-Spectrum Transgenic Resistance to Papaya ringspot virus and Papaya leaf-distortion mosaic virus
The aphid-borne potyvirus, Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV), is the major limiting factor for papaya production worldwide. Transgenic resistance conferred by the PRSV-coat protein (CP) gene and based on the mechanism of post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS), has become the most effective method to protecting papaya from infection by the noxious virus. The PRSV-CP transgenic lines of cultivars ...
متن کامل20 Years of Transgenic Research in China for Resistance to Papaya ringspot virus
Papaya is a favorite fruit and important industrial raw material in China. It is traditionally planted in southern China. Due to its wide uses and mystical health-related effects, papaya has been listed in fruits of high priority. Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) is the main limitation of papaya production. PRSV infection rate reaches 100% in field in the late season of planting, which considerably...
